Keep Your Handmade Creation in Top Shape
You’ve just adopted from stuffer crochet!
With a bit of care, your doll will stay in top shape and ready for years of display, play, and adventures.
HOW TO WASH
Your handmade friend might get a little dusty from sitting on a shelf or joining you on travels. Here is how to freshen them up gently.
The Gentle Bubble Bath:
Think of it like bathing a baby Duck – be super gentle!
- Fill a sink with lukewarm water and a tiny drop of mild soap.
- Give them a soft squeeze bath. No scrubbing needed!
- Rinse until all the bubbles are gone.
THE RELAXING DRY:
- Gently squeeze out the water (like giving a hug). Don’t wring or twist them – it makes them dizzy!
- Lay them flat on a fluffy towel in an airy spot to dry. Reshape them a bit if needed, so they dry looking their best.
Yarn is magical, but it has its kryptonite. To avoid a fuzzy disaster, please avoid these:
NO WASHING MACHINES OR DRYERS!
Machines are too rough, and dryers are way too hot! High heat is scary for handmade yarn; it can melt the fibers, shrink your friend, or make them fuzzy and misshapen.
Keep it Gentle
No harsh chemicals (bleach is a big no-no) and definitely no ironing. They are perfect just the way they are.
Safety & Babies
“CAN I GIVE THIS TO MY BABY?”
- Most of the dolls you see here are designed as collectible art or decor.
- They have shiny plastic “safety eyes,” buttons, or sometimes hidden wires to make them poseable.
- These bits are super cute, but they are not safe for tiny humans who still explore the world with their mouths (under 3 years old).
